Herman and Henrietta

A hippo and a girl with a bird sleeping on her head, respectively :o)

Herman the hippo is melting my heart...I'm wondering how I could make him in plush form. He is definitely from the 'Island of Misfit Toys' or some other weird lovely place. I just added this print to my shop!

Henrietta and the bluebird...sort of a self-portrait. She's a little melancholy but in a more introspective way. It's good to be introspective sometimes...& there is so much on my mind these days! So much to think about...a daughter I'll soon have, all the things I want to do before she gets here, ideas for a new business and how in the world I can pull it off, and then there are those everyday worries that creep up and blur the big picture. It's important to take a deep breath and focus on one thing at a time. (Henrietta is also in the shop)

Oooh, have to note...I ordered fabric for our dining room curtains. I'm way picky about fabrics and don't have the biggest budget for those real lovelies so I get so excited when I find something I love and can afford. It's an Anna Griffin fabric called Sierra Aviary. I'm using plain white pre-made curtains I already have to sew the new fabric onto - like a template. I'll have the ease of simpler sewing and get a liner fabric in the process - nice!

Off to work on ideas for a new mural job then out to get some much needed exercise...hope you have a lovely evening!

Hi Melody, It IS the loveliest fabric! I just got 11 yards in the mail and thankfully I still think it's perfect. Too funny...it's going in my dining room too :o) d
