August Homefront

August is rolling along around here. I need to catch my breath and find a minute to post every once in a while, but the days have been full.

So what have I been up to?

Cleaning up messes, duh...this kid's in everything.

Going to picnics and bbq's and hikes & walks and mornings at the dog beach in Santa Cruz.

Introducing Miranda to playgrounds and lots of new friends.

Hosting friends I haven't seen in years, and having their daughter play with ours (mind blowing).

Painting in my studio.

Purging our basement of stuff, then thrifting for better stuff ;o)

Hanging on to my first pedicure in 15 years for as long as possible.

Being overwhelmed by tomatoes from our garden.

Cooking & baking...tomato pies, fajitas, zucchini bread, panzanella.

Sewing up custom owlings.

Setting up a cloth diapering station and making diaper wipes solution. (Thank you to the Tranquil Parent for the recipe)

Researching & planning my re-entry in the textiles world. Hoping this book is helpful in the process.

Watching Miranda take her first steps.

Scoring on "new" chairs for my studio. Even one for the Bird. (& these were found, even better than thrifted)

Working away on our backyard.

I love summer...and I promise to enjoy the rest of it rather than mourning how soon it will be gone. That's a good resolution.

Happy August Summer day :o)
